Traveling is an experience that we all look forward to. We allot time and effort dreaming, planning, and saving for our desired destinations. But sometimes, there are minor details that can impede the joy and cause us a little stress; however, you don’t have to worry over them as you arm yourself prepared for your trip. To help you, here are 10 travel hacks that can make your vacation more exciting and less hassle!

  1. Take a picture or scan important documents such as passport, id, and itinerary and save a copy on your phone. In the unfortunate event of theft or loss, you have an extra copy at the tip of your fingers.
  2. Contact your credit and/or debit card provider before leaving to make sure that your card is authorized to be used in your foreign destination. This is to avoid being suspected with suspicious activity.
  3. Instead of a hotel, consider reserving a home if you are traveling with your family, or a single room if alone. There are many accommodation apps/websites, such as AirBnB (https://www.airbnb.com), where you can browse rooms being rented by private homeowners and sometimes, they even offer better accommodations than hotels.
  4. Roll your clothes when packing instead of folding, as doing the former will allow to fit more things in your suitcase. Here is simple tutorial for you: https://www.google.com/amp/s/m.wikihow.com/Roll-Clothes%3famp=1
  5. Mark your luggage as “fragile”. Through this, your baggage will be kept at the top, making it one of the first bags to be released. You never have to worry as your baggage is handled correctly. Your welcome in advance! ?
  6. Bringing a pen will be of help so you can complete custom forms easier. Fill out the form completely, and if traveling with a group, make sure they have answered theirs as well.
  7. In getting local currency, use ATMs instead of going to money converters in the airport. The latter charges with fees and exchange rates are a rip-off. Meanwhile, ATMs, of course, always dispense local currencies. At least you have saved up a little!
  8. When you reach your accommodation, remove only the necessities from your luggage. Taking out everything will only make repacking later, when it’s time to go home, a difficult task, and it only increases the chance of forgetting something.
  9. On food and cuisine, eat local only. Save eating at common fast food for home. Eating local food may save you money and will give you an experience of new and flavorful meals.
  10. This may be common sense, but it needs a bit of reiteration: Do not be a stubborn traveler. It will do you good to make a research about the country or locality you are visiting.

These travel hacks have helped many travelers over the years, and we hope that they will serve you well, too. And yes, by now, you are readier than ever for your next escapade!
